Lot 305 – The Order and Medal Group of John Ashton Bostock, C.B., Deputy Surgeon General of the Army and Surgeon to Queen Victoria, comprising: C.B. military, France Order of the Legion of Honour, Knights Badge (1848-1870 type), Gwalior Campaign: Punniar Star 29 Dec 1843, engraved verso “Assistant Surgeon John A. Bostock 50th Queen’s Own Regiment”, with adapted suspender, Crimea medal with four clasps: Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, and Sebastopol, impressed “Surgeon J.A. Bostock, Scots Fusr. Gds.”, Turkish Crimea medal unnamed, C.B. extremely fine with tiny enamel chips, Legion of Honour has some enamel damage or loss, Crimea with some pits, other two slightly pitted and tarnished, mounted court style, housed in oak frame with photographic print portrait of recipient (6).
