Lot 282 – A Rear Admiral’s First World War Flag, being that of Rear Admiral Sir W. C. Pakenham, CB, KCMG, KCVO, (1861 – 1933), the flag was flown from HMS New Zealand, an Indefaticable Class Battle Cruiser, at the Battle of Jutland, 31st May – 1st June 1916, 88cm x 111cm, in a glazed and stained oak presentation case, with plaque, together with two letters from JFE Green, Captain of HMS New Zealand, and other ephemera.
