Lot 298 – Attributed to William Allsworth (1811 – 1864) – Portrait of Thomas Richard Toker, Second Son of John Toker, of The Oaks, Ospringe, Near Faversham, Kent. Entered Royal Navy 1794, fought at the Battle of The Nile (1st August 1798), served on H.M.S. Colossus, as First Lieutenant, at Battle of Trafalgar (21st October, 1805), then promoted to the rank of Commander. Later served in Baltic, off Scotland, at Sheerness, and later off The Scheldt and Ostend (1815 – 1817), invalided from H.M.S. Tamar in November 1818, as a Captain, oil on canvas, 67cm x 61cm, in gilt frame.
