In the March Auction held at the Ibbett Mosely Auction Rooms in Sevenoaks, there was a consignment of Silver by Tiffany and Co, of New York. Catalogued as Tiffany Sterling, rather than silver, because since Brexit we have had to revert back to the 1973 Hallmarking Act, and in the absence of import marks, the term silver could not be used. Interest was created over the pre-sale viewing days, and with online bidders, telephone bidders, and potential buyers, in the room, the consignment sold for a total of £3,340, which comprised a tureen, by Edward C. Moore (£2,300), a bachelor’s sugar bowl and cream jug, sugar caster and nips, etc ( £400), and a pair of salts, a mustard pot, and a pair of sugar casters (£640).
