Lot 93 – A 1/10 scale mahogany model of a British Waterloo-period 9 pounder cannon, with limber, brass barrel, and with ram rod and other accessories, on wood base 79cm long, together with a Royal Artillery Headquarters certificate no. 70, and a proof certificate dated 12th February 1973, maker Cire Perdue, a reproduction of a weapon used at the Battle of Waterloo on June 18th 1815.

The citation reads ” Private Picking volunteered and went out to No Man’s Land, under a heavy barrage, near Daisey Wood, east of Zonnebeke, on the morning of 10th October 1917, to dress wounds and bring several men back to his own lines(Third Battle of Ypres), he was later wounded on 12/12/1917, and 13/6/1918.
